Minimal model of universal viscous liquid dynamics

Ulf R. Pedersen

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032028 (2026) - Published 21 August, 2026

A lattice model of viscous liquid dynamics based on local rearrangements on a disordered energy landscape is presented. The model reproduces universal features of relaxation observed in chemically distinct glass-forming liquids.

Non-Hermitian topology and skin modes in the continuum via parametric processes

Markus Bestler, Alexander Dikopoltsev, and Oded Zilberberg

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032027 (2026) - Published 20 August, 2026

This theoretical study demonstrates that Hermitian, momentum-shifted parametric pairing processes can induce non-Hermitian topology and skin modes in bosonic continuum systems. Stabilized by local dissipation, the model exhibits exceptional points, a non-Hermitian Fermi arc, and a robust bulk-boundary correspondence.

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032026 (2026) - Published 19 August, 2026

First-row transition-metal monoxides carry a complex interplay between screening, localization, and hybridization throughout the filling of the 3d shell. The loss of quasiparticle weight and formation of satellite structures is described, incorporating both local and nonlocal spin-resolved excitations of the screened effective interaction, and the changing nature of the crystal environment around the localized charges is captured via the local Green’s function of the correlated subspace.
