His editorial experience includes managing the peer review of research papers across a broad range of topics for titles including Physical Review A, Physical Review E, and Physical Review Applied.

Jan Michael Rost

Eva Zurek received her M.Sc. from the University of Calgary, and her Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart. After performing postdoctoral research at Cornell, she became an Assistant Professor at the University at Buffalo, where she was promoted to Full Professor in 2016 and SUNY Distinguished Professor in 2024. Eva received the Alfred P Sloan Fellowship (2013) and was named a fellow of the American Physical Society (2021). Eva's research focuses on theoretical studies of high pressure, superhard, superconducting, quantum and planetary materials, catalysis, as well as solvated electrons and electrides, and she develops algorithms for materials discovery.

Amit Agrawal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, UK. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah, followed by a postdoc at NIST and has served as an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University, and in Scientist roles at NIST and US Army Research Laboratory. He has published over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and has received numerous awards including New Focus/Bookham Award from Optica, IEEE/LEOS Graduate Student Fellowship, the D. J. Lovell Scholarship from SPIE and has been recognized as a Rising Researcher by SPIE. His research interests lie in the areas of quantum optics, integrated photonics, plasmonics, metamaterials/metasurfaces, nonlinear optics and ultrafast optics.

Raphaël Butté

Raphaël Butté is a Senior Scientist of the Institute of Physics at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He received his Ph.D. from the University Claude Bernard, Lyon, France, in 2000. He was recognized as an Outstanding Referee of APS in 2012 and was awarded IOP Trusted Reviewer status in 2022. His research is focused on the optical properties of wide bandgap semiconductors, mostly III‐nitrides. His current research topics aim at exploring optical nonlinearities occurring in microresonators and the physics of point defects acting as single photon emitters.

Natalia Chepiga

Natalia Chepiga is the Royal Society Research Fellow at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics at the University of Oxford. Prior to that, Natalia was an Assistant Professor at the Kavli Institute of Nanoscience at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands. She received the title Docteur ès Sciences from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland in 2017. Her work was recognized with the ERC starting grant, the Royal Society university research fellowship, and the Minerva prize by the Dutch Physics Council and Society. Natalia’s research focuses on quantum critical phenomena in strongly-correlated systems including quantum magnets and Rydberg-based quantum simulators. She is an active developer of tensor network algorithms that she often combines with the boundary conformal field theory.

Luis E. F. Foà Torres

Luis is a Full Professor of Physics at the University of Chile. He received his doctor degree in Physics from the National University of Córdoba (Argentina) and then went for postdoctoral stays at the Abdus Salam ICTP, CEA-Grenoble, and TU-Dresden as a Humboldt Fellow. Before moving to Chile he served as a CONICET independent researcher in Argentina. His research interests span quantum transport, two-dimensional/topological materials, driven and non-hermitian quantum systems. In 2018 he received the ICTP Prize. He has been recognized as Outstanding Referee by APS and has served as Divisional Associate Editor of PRL. He loves trekking, biking and the outdoors.

Keisuke Fujii

Keisuke Fujii is a Professor of Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University, a Deputy Director of Center for Quantum Information and Quantum Biology (QIQB) at Osaka University, and a Team Leader at RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing (RQC). He obtained his Ph.D. in engineering in 2011 from Kyoto University and conducts his research at Osaka University, Kyoto University, and University of Tokyo. He was a NISTEP selection in 2020 and was awarded the 19th JSPS Prize in 2022. His research covers a wide range of topics related to quantum computing, delving into the theoretical aspects and software development for both near-term applications and fault-tolerant quantum computing.

Alberto Amo is a Senior Researcher of the CNRS at the University of Lille, France. He received his PhD in 2008 from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain. His work on the study of polariton superfluids has been recognised by IUPAP Young Scientist Prize in Physics of Semiconductors in 2012 the Spanish Physical Society in 2013. His current research focuses on experiments in topological photonics, quantum fluids of light, nonlinear optics and lattice quantum electrodynamics.

Jan Arlt is a Professor of experimental quantum physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University, Denmark. He obtained his D.Phil. from Oxford University in 2000 followed by a postdoc and junior professorial positions at Leibniz Universität Hannover, Germany. He joined Aarhus University as an associate Professor in 2010 and became full Professor in 2025. His research interests lie in the field of atomic physics, in particular in the experimental investigation of ultracold quantum gases. Current topics of interest include strongly interacting impurities in many-particle quantum systems, the fundamental nature of fluctuations in quantum gases, and their application in the context of quantum simulation.

Guido Caldarelli is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and Director of the Institute for Complex Systems (CNR-ISC) in Rome. He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from SISSA, Trieste. Guido is an elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and the Academia Europaea. He received the Senior Scientist Award from the Complex Systems Society in 2025 for his outstanding contributions to the field. His research focuses on complex networks, econophysics, and multilayer systems, with applications spanning social, biological, and financial systems. He has authored several influential books and about 300 scientific publications in these areas.

Xie Chen

Xie Chen is the Eddleman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from MIT in 2012 and was a Miller research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley before joining Caltech in 2014. Dr. Chen is a condensed matter theorist studying emergent phenomena in strongly interacting quantum many-body systems. She received the New Horizons in Physics Prize from the Breakthrough Foundation in 2020 and was named a Simons Investigator in 2021.

Carina Curto

Carina Curto received an A.B. in Physics from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Duke University. She spent her postdoctoral years at Rutgers and NYU, where she transitioned to research in theoretical and computational neuroscience. From 2009-2014 she was a professor in the math department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and since 2014 she has been a math professor at Penn State. Curto's research focuses on theory and analysis of neural networks and neural codes, using novel tools from algebra, topology, geometry, and combinatorics.

Shanti Deemyad

Shanti Deemyad is an experimental condensed matter physicist and Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Utah, where she leads the High-Pressure Research Laboratory. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from Washington University in St. Louis and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard University. Her research focuses on quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems under extreme pressure and temperature, aimed at discovering novel electronic and structural phases. Deemyad is actively involved in the international high-pressure community, serving on scientific boards and advisory committees for major conferences and professional organizations, including AIRAPT.

Davide Donadio is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis. He received a M.Sc. in Physics and a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Milan. Before his tenure at UC Davis, he led a Max Planck Research Group at MPIP in Mainz (Germany) and was appointed Ikerbasque professor at DIPC (Donostia, Spain). His research in theoretical and computational materials modeling covers materials discovery, transport phenomena, crystallization, and the study of surfaces and their chemical reactivity. He is an elected fellow of the AAAS and of the APS (DCOMP).

Amin Doostmohammadi

Amin Doostmohammadi

Amin Doostmohammadi is an Associate Professor of Physics at the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. He obtained his Ph.D. at University of Notre Dame in Mechanical Engineering. After that he moved to Theoretical Physics at Oxford, first as a postdoc and then as an independent research fellow of the Royal Commission. In 2020 he started Active & Intelligent Matter Group at Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, and has received several awards including Villum Young Investigator award, Novo Nordisk NERD award, and ERC Starting Grant from European Union. He has also received the Emerging Talent Award from IOP, and in 2021 received the young scientist medal and prize in biophysics from the International Union of Pure & Applied Physics (IUPAP). Amin’s research centers around studying active materials and mechanochemical feedbacks in cellular collectives with focus on theory, computational modeling and mechanobiology experiments.

Avik Dutt

Avik Dutt is an Assistant Professor and a National Quantum Lab (QLab) Fellow at the University of Maryland, College Park, with joint appointments in Mechanical Engineering and the Institute for Physical Science and Technology (IPST). He obtained a Ph.D. in on-chip quantum and nonlinear nanophotonics at Cornell, followed by postdoctoral training in quantum Hall effects and topology at Stanford. He also focuses on hardware-aware analog and digital quantum simulation on photonic and trapped-ion quantum computers. He was recognized as a Rising Star of Light (2020) and of Mechanical Engineering (2025). He received the NSF CAREER award and the inaugural SURA Early Career Scientist Award, both in 2024.

Giulia Ferrini

Giulia Ferrini is Associate Professor at Chalmers and a PI at the Wallenberg Centre for Quantum Technologies. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Grenoble 1 (France) in 2011, and later had post-doctoral appointments in Sorbonne University, Paris-Diderot University, and University of Mainz, where she was recipient of a Marie Sklodowska Curie Individual Fellowship. Her research interests lie in the field of theoretical quantum computation, especially with bosonic systems.

Stephanie Hansen

Stephanie Hansen is a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff in the ICF target design group at Sandia National Laboratories, where she studies the atomic-scale behavior of atoms in extreme environments and develops atomic, spectroscopic, equation-of-state, and transport models to help predict and diagnose the behavior of high energy-density plasmas. She is the author and developer of the SCRAM non-LTE spectroscopic modeling code and MUZE, a self-consistent field code used for equation-of-state, scattering, and transport calculations. She received an Early Career grant from the Department of Energy’s Office of Fusion Energy Sciences in 2014, was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2017, and was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society’s Division of Plasma Physics in 2019. She holds degrees in Physics and Philosophy from the University of Nevada, Reno and has been a Visiting Associate Professor at Cornell University since 2012.

Sara Haravifard is the William M. Fairbank Associate Professor of Physics, Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, and Electrical & Computer Engineering at Duke University. She earned her Ph.D. in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics from McMaster University, Canada, in 2010 and conducted postdoctoral research at Argonne National Laboratory and the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on discovering and understanding quantum materials, with particular emphasis on quantum magnetism and topological matter. Combining materials synthesis with neutron and x-ray scattering, thermodynamic, and transport measurements, her work explores emergent quantum phenomena and guides the design of novel materials.

Paloma A. Huidobro is a Ramón y Cajal Researcher at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and the Condensed Matter Physics Center (IFIMAC). After obtaining her Ph.D. from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2013, she was a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London where she held a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, and an FCT Associate Researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações in Lisbon. She has received the EOS Early Career Women in Photonics Award 2025 and an ERC Starting Grant from the European Union. Her research interests focus on nanophotonic phenomena at the classical and quantum levels, including metamaterials, plasmonics, and topological photonics.

Ying-Jer Kao

Ying-Jer Kao is a Professor of Physics at National Taiwan University. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago in 2001. His research focuses on computational condensed matter physics, including tensor network algorithms, quantum magnetism, and topological phases. He is also actively engaged in artificial intelligence applications in physics, particularly in quantum machine learning and neural-network-based renormalization group methods. His contributions have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Ta-You Wu Memorial Award, the Young Investigator Merit Award from the National Science and Technology Council (Taiwan), and the Research Award for Junior Research Investigators from Academia Sinica. He served as President of the Physical Society of Taiwan (2023-2024) and has contributed to various international advisory committees. He is currently a project manager at the Taiwan Quantum Program Office.

Michael Kastner received his Ph.D. from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany, in 2000. He is Head of Program at the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (Institute for Advanced Study) in Delmenhorst, Germany, and Professor at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. His research lies at the intersection of quantum theory, statistical physics, and condensed matter physics, with interests ranging all the way from foundational theoretical questions to collaborations with experimentalists. Topics of current research include quantum simulation, long-range interacting many-body systems, equilibration and thermalization, and the propagation of quantum correlations. Michael has received several awards and distinctions, including the 2007 Research Prize of the Emil Warburg Foundation.

Se Kwon Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. He is a condensed-matter theorist with a particular focus on quantum spintronics. His research interests cover fundamental physics of magnetism and superconductivity, as well as their technological applications in practical fields such as spintronics and neuromorphic computing. He received his Ph.D. in 2014 from Johns Hopkins University. He received the Outstanding Young Researcher Award from the Association of Korean Physicists in America in 2016 and the Young Investigator Grant from the Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association in 2019. He was selected as an APS Outstanding Referee for 2024.

Panagiotis Kotetes is an Associate Professor at the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS). Panagiotis obtained his Ph.D. in 2011 from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece. His research interests include topological matter, superconductivity, magnetism, and quantum computing. In 2022 he was recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer for the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, and in 2024 he received the Outstanding Referee Award of the American Physical Society.

Igor Lesanovsky is a Professor at the University of Tübingen (Germany) and part-time Professor at the University of Nottingham (UK). He obtained his Ph.D. in 2006 from the University of Heidelberg (Germany). He is a theoretical physicist with research interests in atomic physics, open quantum systems, non-equilibrium physics and many-body theory. He was awarded the IOP Maxwell Medal and Prize in 2013 and the Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award in 2018. He is among the Outstanding Referees selected by APS in 2025.

Peng-Bo Li is a Professor at the School of Physics and Deputy Director of the Institute of Quantum Science and Technology at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He obtained his Ph.D. from Peking University in 2009. His research interests lie in theoretical quantum optics and quantum information, with a particular focus on the theory of hybrid quantum systems involving solid-state qubits, nanomechanical systems, and quantum magnonics. He is a member of the Quantum Optics Committee of the Chinese Physical Society and a Council Member of the Shaanxi Physical Society.

Huey-Wen Lin

Huey-Wen Lin is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Michigan State University. She received her Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University in New York City. She was a research professor at University of Washington from 2009 to 2014 and a visiting professor at University of California, Berkeley from 2015 to 2016. Her research uses high-performance computing to study the partonic properties of nucleons and other hadrons according to the Standard Model with applications to high-energy and nuclear physics. She was elected to serve on the executive committee for USQCD from 2020 to 2023 and American Physical Society Division of Nuclear Physics from 2022 to 2024; she was convener of the Snowmass Energy-Frontier topical group and chaired multiple APS committees, including the Herman Feshbach Award Committee, and organized many conferences and workshops. She designed the free mobile game “Quantum 3”, which teaches QCD concepts at a K-12 level, and co-created and managed the “My Journey as a Physicist” Podcast. She was an APS Blewett Fellow in 2015, an NSF Career awardee in 2017, and received the Cottrell Scholar Award in 2020, MSU's Excellence in DEI University award in 2023. She became an APS fellow in 2022 and is currently co-spokesperson for the CTEQ collaboration.

Karlo Penc

Karlo Penc is a Research Professor at the HUN-REN Wigner Research Centre for Physics in Budapest, Hungary, where he investigates exotic quantum phases in correlated electron systems, including frustrated magnets, low-dimensional spin models, and topological states. He earned his Ph.D. from Eötvös Loránd University in 1992 and has since held extended research and Visiting Professor positions worldwide, including at the University of Tokyo, the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto, the École Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, and the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras. His broader postdoctoral training includes appointments at the University of Neuchâtel, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, CEA-Saclay, and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems. His recent work explores exotic ground states, topology, and entanglement in Mott insulators. His awards include the Physics Prize of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2009) and the APS Outstanding Referee designation (2021).

Tatiana G. Rappoport

Tatiana G. Rappoport is a Principal Investigator at the Universidade do Minho in Portugal and an Associate Professor at the Physics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She received her Ph.D. in 2003 from Fluminense Federal University in Brazil. As a condensed matter theoretician, her research focuses on spintronics, orbitronics, and the electronic properties of novel two-dimensional materials, as well as topological states of matter. She is an advocate for science outreach, co-founding the Tem Menina no Circuito project to encourage young girls to pursue careers in science.

Her research focuses on soft matter, non-equilibrium statistical mechanics, and optical manipulation of complex fluids.

Her research interests span a wide range of topics, including traffic flow, human mobility, internet packet congestion, financial markets, business firm transaction networks, collective sentiment in social networks, infectious disease propagation, and the gut microbiota ecosystem.

Marc Vila Tusell

Marc Vila Tusell is a Beatriu de Pinós postdoctoral fellow at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Spain. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from ICN2 in 2020 and then spent four years at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He has been recognized as an emerging research leader in the field of spintronics and 2D materials by the publishers Springer Theses and 2D Materials, as well as SPICE. His current research interests focus on how spins couple to other degrees of freedom (charge, orbital, lattice) in quantum materials and how that can be utilized to engineer novel spintronic applications.

He received his Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University in the City of New York, and did his postdoc at Condensed Matter Theory Center, University of Maryland, College Park. His primary research areas include quantum physics, condensed matter, and numerical methods, in particular optimal control of qubits and error mitigation. He has been recognized as a Global Spotlight Member by the APS and has received the President’s Award from City University of Hong Kong, among other honors.

Tzu-Chieh Wei is a professor in the Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics at Stony Brook University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 2004. He works at the interdisciplinary quantum information science, contributing to the development of entanglement measures, quantum-computational universality of two-dimensional Affleck-Kennedy-Lieb-Tasaki models and their spectral gaps, etc. His recent interest includes error mitigation for near-term quantum processors and their benchmarking, quantum algorithms, and simulations. He helped create a QIST master’s program at SBU and has been undertaking quantum education for high-school students and teachers. He was selected as an APS Outstanding Referee for 2023.

Peng Ye

Peng Ye

Peng Ye is a Professor of Physics and Principal Investigator at Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). He is also an affiliated faculty member of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Magnetoelectric Physics and Devices and the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies. He received the SYSU Fulan Award for Research Excellence and other national-, provincial-, and university-level grants and awards. His research focuses on emergent many-body physics using interdisciplinary approaches that integrate topological quantum field theory, condensed-matter, quantum information, and related areas. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute for Advanced Study at Tsinghua University with the C. N. Yang Fellowship. He did postdoc work at the Perimeter Institute, and then at the A. J. Leggett Institute for Condensed Matter Theory at UIUC.

David Zwicker

David Zwicker is an independent Max Planck Research Group Leader at the MPI for Dynamics and Self-Organization in Göttingen, Germany. He received his doctoral degree in theoretical physics from TU Dresden, followed by a postdoctoral position at Harvard University. His research focuses on describing the complex organization of biological systems using tools from statistical physics, dynamical system theory, fluid dynamics, and information theory.
