Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032031 (2026) - Published 26 August, 2026

The importance of nonasymptotic metastable states in continuous deterministic evolutionary game models is highlighted. In the demographic version of the Hawk-Dove game, which is a paradigmatic model of the evolution of aggressive behavior, it is shown that metastates, known as ghost attractors, provide a temporal rescue from the eventual evolutionary suicide and extinction.

Neural-network-assisted Boltzmann approach for dilute microswimmer suspensions

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032029 (2026) - Published 21 August, 2026

A neural network trained on two-body hydrodynamic simulations learns the binary-collision map of microswimmers and uses it directly as microscopic input to Boltzmann collision integrals. For a representative swimmer model, the framework predicts rotational and translational diffusivities consistent with dilute-regime many-body simulations, assesses isotropic-state stability, and reveals which collision geometries dominate macroscopic transport and polar ordering.
