First-row transition-metal monoxides carry a complex interplay between screening, localization, and hybridization throughout the filling of the 3d shell. The loss of quasiparticle weight and formation of satellite structures is described, incorporating both local and nonlocal spin-resolved excitations of the screened effective interaction, and the changing nature of the crystal environment around the localized charges is captured via the local Green’s function of the correlated subspace.

A cavity-QED scheme for collective three-body interactions accelerates the generation of metrologically useful entangled states, including Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states. The faster dynamics enable robust metrological gains in the presence of experimentally relevant dissipation, outperforming conventional two-body interactions.
