Using neutron inelastic scattering, the authors investigate the dynamics of liquid hydrogen sulfide, which is similar to water but lacks the hydrogen-bond network. While fast sound is preserved, the secondary weakly dispersive mode typical of hydrogen-bonded liquids is not detected.
