Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032003 (2026) - Published 9 July, 2026

This work reports a beating signal of two dipole-compression collective mode frequencies evolving from the low-temperature phononic hydrodynamic regime to the collisionless limit at the hole-induced anomaly temperature. The lower (higher) frequency originates from hole (particle) spectral states, and the temperature dependence of their relative excitation strengths reflects the thermal population imbalance between particle and hole states across the anomaly temperature.

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032002 (2026) - Published 6 July, 2026

Time-resolved measurements of positrons confined in a magnetic dipole trap and interacting with CF4 show a transition in the dominant loss channel from positronium formation to cross-field transport as the gas cools the positrons below the charge-exchange threshold. Gamma-ray annihilation spectra and ramped ejection measurements are used to separate electrostatically trapped and magnetically trapped populations and to quantify the associated scattering and cooling dynamics.

Focusing characteristics of cylindrically bent Laue crystals

Phys. Rev. Research 8, L032001 (2026) - Published 6 July, 2026

An analytical wave-optical framework for cylindrically bent Laue crystals is developed from the Takagi-Taupin theory. The framework separates geometric, kinematical, and higher-order scattering contributions and provides monochromatic and polychromatic focusing conditions together with a conservation relation describing aperture effects
