The images show ultracold molecules created from an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate. A magnetic-field gradient is used to separate the atomic BEC (visible in the first four frames) from the molecules, which oscillate around a position in space where their magnetic-field-dependent internal states have an energy minimum.
