Phys. Rev. D 92, 024014 (2015) - Published 7 July, 2015

Black hole mergers with neutron stars are promising sources of gravitational-wave signals for the new crop of gravitational wave detectors. The impressive numerical relativity simulations carried out in this paper illustrate what to expect when the orientation of the black hole spin and the equation of state of the neutron star are properly taken into account.

Four loop renormalization of ϕ3 theory in six dimensions

J. A. Gracey

Phys. Rev. D 92, 025012 (2015) - Published 7 July, 2015

The author carried out the renormalization – the technique of rendering a quantum field theory finite – of the cubic scalar field theory in six dimensions to the four loop order. The technically impressive results obtained have applications to various models of interest in statistical mechanics and field theory, including the Lee-Yang edge singularity and the percolation problem.
