This Collection offers an early glimpse into how artificial intelligence and machine learning can further unlock the potential of density functional theory, a highly successful computational method with broad applications.

To celebrate the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Physical Review X is compiling a list of groundbreaking papers it has published in the quantum arena. Each month we will highlight a selection of papers from different topic areas, showcasing the remarkable depth and breadth of quantum developments featured in Physical Review X.

PRX launches this collection to showcase articles in the exciting field of 2D materials and van der Waals heterostructures to constitute an emblematic example of the diversity of physics in this very active scientific domain.

The editors from Physical Review Letters, Physical Review X, Physical Review A, and Physical Review Applied have curated a short list of notable recent optics papers published in our journals. This compilation not only highlights research in our core publication areas, but also showcases select interdisciplinary and applied studies, illustrating the kind of submissions we encourage beyond the traditional or perceived scope of the Physical Review journals.

The Physical Review Journals want to be a home for chemists. It is our aim to publish work on electrochemistry and energy science (batteries, supercapacitors, and photocatalysis), nanoparticles and nanotechnology, metrology for analytical chemistry, and quantum information science for computational chemistry.

This retrospective Collection brings together influential research previously published across the portfolio. These papers, selected by our editors for their contribution to the field, have all undergone our standard peer-review process.

PRX presents a collection of papers dedicated to ultrafast generation, control, and imaging of electronic dynamics in molecules and in solids—a fortuitously timed tribute to the 2023 Nobel-Prize-winning attosecond technology.

A collection of recent highlights in experimental Statistical, Biological, and Soft-Matter Physics showcases PRX’s superb quality and topical diversity.

Physical Review X showcases the scientific vitality and diversity of the field of laser-plasma particle acceleration with a carefully curated collection of articles.

A Physical Review X special collection on stochastic thermodynamics.

A Physical Review X special section on the emerging field of metamaterials.
