Numerical simulation of a wave undergoing reflection and refraction at the surface of a material with negative index of refraction, showing that the beam is temporarily trapped there before formation of the backward-refracted beam (bottom panels). This time delay suggests a way to resolve a recent controversy over causality violation by negative-refractive media.
