2025 Irwin Oppenheim Award

APS congratulates Noémie S. Livné and Michael Moshe as the recipients of the 2025 Irwin Oppenheim Award for best paper by early career scientists published in Physical Review E. Their article was selected for the formulation of a geometric theory of mechanical screening in two dimensional solids, which is applicable to a range of systems including granular matter, cellular tissue, and mechanical metamaterials.

In accordance with APS Honors policy, honors are not given posthumously. We respectfully acknowledge the contributions of the late Amit Schiller to this award-winning paper.
