Benjamin Stölzner, Alessandro Cuoco, Julien Lesgourgues, and Maciej Bilicki

Phys. Rev. D 97, 063506 (2018) - Published 6 March, 2018

This paper presents an analysis of the cross correlation between CMB and the large scale structure at large angular scales, the correlation being expected as the CMB temperature is dominated by the integrated Sachs Wolf effect. It improves previous analyses significantly, fitting all parameters to the data simultaneously, rather than just the bias parameters initially.

Soft theorems for shift-symmetric cosmologies

Bernardo Finelli, Garrett Goon, Enrico Pajer, and Luca Santoni

Phys. Rev. D 97, 063531 (2018) - Published 30 March, 2018

The authors derive soft theorems (limits of Ward identities) for the correlation functions of cosmological perturbations in inflation models with a shift symmetry, a typical feature of many such models. They manage to generalize previous work by Maldacena to the much larger class of non-attractor inflation models, which significantly extends and changes these consistency relations.

Testing the weak gravity-cosmic censorship connection

Toby Crisford, Gary T. Horowitz, and Jorge E. Santos

Phys. Rev. D 97, 066005 (2018) - Published 8 March, 2018

The authors show a surprising connection between seemingly unrelated ideas, the weak gravity conjecture (a quantum gravity concept) and the cosmic censorship (physical solutions in classical general relativity are essentially deterministic). Counter examples to the latter are known, however, imposing the weak gravity conjecture these solutions become unstable and the cosmic censorship is preserved exactly above the weak gravity bound.
