Testing long-distance modifications of gravity to 100 astronomical units

Brandon Buscaino, Daniel DeBra, Peter W. Graham, Giorgio Gratta, and Timothy D. Wiser

Phys. Rev. D 92, 104048 (2015) - Published 24 November, 2015

A proposed space mission would precisely measure deviations from Newtonian gravity on a scale of 100 astronomical units.

Do dark matter axions form a condensate with long-range correlation?

Alan H. Guth, Mark P. Hertzberg, and C. Prescod-Weinstein

Phys. Rev. D 92, 103513 (2015) - Published 16 November, 2015

The authors investigate the formation of Bose-Einstein condensates from axion dark matter, and it is shown that a homogeneous condensate with long range correlations is unstable when attractive interactions like gravity are taken into account. Instead many Bose-Einstein condensates in form of Bose stars with correlation lengths much below galactic scales are created.

More on Heisenberg’s model for high energy nucleon-nucleon scattering

Horatiu Nastase and Jacob Sonnenschein

Phys. Rev. D 92, 105028 (2015) - Published 20 November, 2015

It is shown that up to certain generalizations, the Heisenbeg’s model of pion interactions is the unique description of nucleon-nucleon scattering for which the total cross section saturates the Froissart bound – an upper bound of the total cross section of any scattering process at high energies.
