Recent measurements of the gravitational constant as a function of time

S. Schlamminger, J. H. Gundlach, and R. D. Newman

Phys. Rev. D 91, 121101(R) (2015) - Published 11 June, 2015

Newton’s gravitational coupling, G, is a fundamental quantity that has been experimentally determined by many groups over the years. This paper not only provides a comprehensive compilation of the results of these measurements, but also, using the dates of the measurements, considers whether G is in fact a constant or if, instead, there is evidence for its variation with time.

Linearized nonequilibrium dynamics in nonconformal plasma

Romuald A. Janik, Grzegorz Plewa, Hesam Soltanpanahi, and Michał Spaliński

Phys. Rev. D 91, 126013 (2015) - Published 24 June, 2015

Once produced in relativistic heavy-ion collisions, quark-gluon plasma undergoes a nonequilibrium phase of expansion, characterized by a thermalization time. Using a class of more realistic (nonconformal) holographic models inspired from lattice QCD, the authors study this regime, and find that the thermalization time seems to depend only on the speed of sound.

Phys.
