Dark Energy Survey Year 3 results: Simulation-based cosmological inference with wavelet harmonics, scattering transforms, and moments of weak lensing mass maps. II. cosmological results

M. Gatti et al. (Dark Energy Survey)

Phys. Rev. D 111, 063504 (2025) - Published 3 March, 2025

The paper applies a novel simulation-based cosmological inference methodology to Dark Energy Survey Year-3-based weak-lensing mass maps. Inclusion of nongaussian statistics strongly improves cosmological constraints, establishing consistency with other work with the same and different datasets.

Ultraslow-roll inflation on the lattice: Backreaction and nonlinear effects

Angelo Caravano, Gabriele Franciolini, and Sébastien Renaux-Petel

Phys. Rev. D 111, 063518 (2025) - Published 6 March, 2025

Scenarios like ultraslowroll Inflation significantly change the final stages of slow-roll inflation to create large curvature perturbations that produce gravitational waves (GW) and primordial black holes (PBH). These phases are outside the usual perturbative regime and the authors use lattice simulations to classify nonlinear effects and the backreaction on the background spacetime in ultraslow-roll Inflation. They show that the nonlinear effects introduce corrections around 20%, which indicates that perturbation theory is not completely invalidated. However, the corrections are important to obtain correct PBH production rates and GW signals.

General hierarchy of charges at null infinity via the Todd polynomials

Silvia Nagy, Javier Peraza, and Giorgio Pizzolo

Phys. Rev. D 111, L061903 (2025) - Published 31 March, 2025

In recent years, surprising connections between soft theorems for scattering amplitudes with one or more low-energy particles and asymptotic symmetries have emerged. Here, the authors extend the phase space of Yang-Mills theory by introducing an auxiliary (generalized Stückelberg) field, which allows them to formulate asymptotic symmetries of large gauge transformations (gauge transformations that do not vanish at infinity or the boundary), as well as the corresponding soft theorems to all orders in the low-energy expansion. Remarkably, the procedure works independently of gauge and coordinate choices, and of several usual assumptions.
