This is the third paper in an extended study (see Phys. Rev. D 102, 103530 and Phys. Rev. D 103, 123550) of the impact of galaxy bias modeling on the extraction of cosmological parameters from the large scale structure. Galaxy bias describes the possibility that galaxies do not faithfully trace the distribution of mass in the Universe and the modeling of this relationship. The authors comprehensively study the goodness and range of validity of different bias models that go beyond the leading order by testing them against different simulated galaxy samples that have the clustering properties of several real galaxy data catalogs. This is an important contribution to a decisive aspect of future observational large scale structure programs.

Accurately describing binary spinning black hole mergers is challenging and computationally expensive. In this paper, Combi et al. provide a semianalytic approach to the problem of a spin-aligned binary in the inspiral phase by proposing an approximate solution of general relativity in the form of a linear superposition of boosted Kerr metrics. They demonstrate that it provides an accurate basis for general relativistic magnetohydrodynamic simulations of accreting mini-disks around the black holes.

The authors study accelerated, electrically and magnetically charged black holes in four-dimensional AdS space. These solutions are known to have singularities besides the (defining) singularities at the centers of the black holes behind the event horizon. Remarkably, by embedding the black-hole solutions in eleven-dimensional (super) gravity, the authors find a parameter space for which these additional singularities are eliminated.
