Cosmology with the Planck TE correlation coefficient

A. La Posta, T. Louis, X. Garrido, M. Tristram, and S. Henrot-Versillé

Phys. Rev. D 104, 023527 (2021) - Published 21 July, 2021

The Pearson correlation that this paper uses is an effective and novel way of bypassing multiplicative systematics in the data. The results presented are of particular interest, in view of the discrepancy between the early and late universe measurements of the inferred current Hubble expansion rate.

Classical gravity from loop amplitudes

N. Emil J. Bjerrum-Bohr, Poul H. Damgaard, Ludovic Planté, and Pierre Vanhove

Phys. Rev. D 104, 026009 (2021) - Published 20 July, 2021

The detection of gravitational waves from binary mergers such as black holes requires highly precise analytical computations as they are fed into gravitational wave templates. Employing quantum field theory methods in a post-Minkowskian expansion turns out to be a useful framework for such analytical computations. However, extracting the classical limit from the scattering amplitudes appears to be cumbersome. The authors describe an efficient method for extracting the parts of loop integrals that are needed in obtaining the classical limit.
