Modeling biased tracers at the field level

Marcel Schmittfull, Marko Simonović, Valentin Assassi, and Matias Zaldarriaga

Phys. Rev. D 100, 043514 (2019) - Published 8 August, 2019

The authors test the perturbative halo bias model, of central relevance for the cosmological large scale structure, at the field level which allows a direct comparison with simulations. It turns out that model errors can be significantly reduced by this method which is of particular relevance for observables that require a precise estimate of the large-scale potential.

Nonperturbative test of consistency relations and their violation

Angelo Esposito, Lam Hui, and Roman Scoccimarro

Phys. Rev. D 100, 043536 (2019) - Published 28 August, 2019

The authors nonperturbatively test large scale consistency relations, implied by symmetries of the large scale structure dynamics, with N-body simulations and show how they are violated for non-Gaussian initial conditions. This is a pioneering first step in constraining primordial non-Gaussianities with highly non-linear modes of the observed large scale structure, including astrophysical fluctuations like galaxies, which are measured with high precision and go beyond the limited perturbative (linear) regime.
