CP symmetry tests in the cascade-anticascade decay of charmonium

Patrik Adlarson and Andrzej Kupsc

Phys. Rev. D 100, 114005 (2019) - Published 3 December, 2019

The authors propose a search for CP violation in strange baryons via the cascade decay of charmonium to two Ξ baryons, which then decay to Λ baryons. This channel is found to have improved sensitivity compared to direct decay to Λs, which requires transverse polarization information, and should be measurable at current and future experiments.

First constraint on coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering in argon

D. Akimov et al.

Phys. Rev. D 100, 115020 (2019) - Published 9 December, 2019

Coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS), first predicted in the 1970s as part of the weak neutral current, has a distinctive cross-section depending on the square of the number of neutrons. The technical hurdles to its experimental observation are only now being overcome. In this paper, the COHERENT collaboration reports results from their engineering run with liquid argon that sets a new limit on CEvNS for this nucleus and confirms that they will have the sensitivity to observe it with their planned experiment program.
