Abstract
Using the -matrix method the amplitude predicted by the strong Regge-cut model is made consistent with -channel unitarity. The resulting amplitude is found to have complex-conjugate Regge poles, , for on the physical sheet of the plane. Its -plane discontinuity has a sharp peak at . The contribution of the discontinuity near the tip of the cut, , as well as the problem of approximating the entire discontinuity integral by complex poles are discussed.
