Abstract

Using the K-matrix method the amplitude predicted by the strong Regge-cut model is made consistent with t-channel unitarity. The resulting amplitude is found to have complex-conjugate Regge poles, αR±iαI, for t0 on the physical sheet of the j plane. Its j-plane discontinuity has a sharp peak at j=αR. The contribution of the discontinuity near the tip of the cut, j=αc, as well as the problem of approximating the entire discontinuity integral by complex poles are discussed.
