Drell-Hearn Sum Rule from Equal-Time Commutators

Abstract

It is shown that the Drell-Hearn sum rule can be obtained from the equal-time commutator [D+(t),D(t)]=0,  where  D±(t)=d3xx1±ix22ρ(x), ρ(x) being the electric charge density.
