Abstract

It is shown that gauge transformations, which modify the dimension of the field ψ(x) in the Thirring model, leave invariant the anomalous dimension of the compound fields φ±(x). The modifications of the operator-product expansion of T(ψ(x)ψ¯(y)) required by the guage transformation are also presented.
