Abstract
The distribution of the strange quarks in the constituent light (up or down) quark, as seen in deep-inelastic scattering, is calculated for first nonvanishing order in the generalized Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. Using a previous fit to determine the parameters of the model, the result is compared to experimental bounds on the momentum carried by strange quarks and antiquarks in the nucleon. No violation of experimental bounds is obtained.
