Narrow-Resonance Duality and the Conspiracy versus Absorption Dispute in Photoproduction

Abstract
On the basis of narrow-resonance duality, we show that the finite-energy sum rules for forward photo-production should be dominated by the resonant or nonresonant part, depending on whether the dominant Regge singularity is a conspiring pole or an absorptive cut. The physical situation clearly favors a conspiracy solution, although not necessarily the one involving conspiracy for the physical pion. Other applications of this approach are outlined.
