Van Hove Model and Nonleptonic Hyperon Decays

Abstract
An attempt is made to construct a pole model for nonleptonic decays where exchanged particles of all spins are included. Summation over the different spins is carried out by means of the Van Hove model, assuming that the Regge-pole term is important. It is found that a number of trajectories do not contribute for a very simple, essentially kinematical reason. A discussion of some consequences of this approach is given.
