Cabibbo's Theory and Second-Order -Symmetry-Breaking Corrections

Abstract
We discuss second-order corrections to the vector and axial-vector baryon currents, arising from partial conservation of axial-vector current and partial conservation of vector current in a field-algebra model. It is shown that the amount of symmetry breaking is severely limited if an acceptable fit to leptonic-baryon-decay data is required. This does not seem to be consistent with information obtained from meson data and -nucleon scattering.
