Expectations for Particle-Nucleus Cross Sections at Very High Energies and the Hadron Mass Spectrum

Abstract
Striking decreases in particle-nucleus total cross sections at high energies are predicted, due to the presence of coherent intermediate resonance contributions. A method of utilizing this effect to probe the high-mass hadron spectrum is outlined.
