Extreme example of rearrangement of spontaneously broken symmetry

Abstract
A model of spontaneously broken SU(2) symmetry is presented in which the generators of in-field (phenomenological) transformations do not form a closed algebra. The consequences of such incomplete observational symmetries are described. Of particular interest is the emergence of current-algebra-type relations, corresponding to a partially conserved isospin current, although the isospin current is strictly conserved in this model. This suggests a possible reinterpretation of current-algebra results.
