Experimental test of maximal tripartite nonlocality using an entangled state and local measurements that are maximally incompatible

Hammad Anwer, Mohamed Nawareg, Adán Cabello, and Mohamed Bourennane

Phys. Rev. A 100, 022104 (2019) - Published 5 August, 2019

The roles of entanglement, nonlocality, and measurement incompatibility are explored. An experimental method is introduced to prepare a special class of state, akin to the famous GHZ and Bell states, opening the door for creating multipartite states that were previously inaccessible.

Hypermetallic polar molecules for precision measurements

Matthew J. O'Rourke and Nicholas R. Hutzler

Phys. Rev. A 100, 022502 (2019) - Published 1 August, 2019

The search for electric dipole moments of elementary particles with molecules has been instrumental in setting very strict limits on possible new physics, but a challenge for the next generation of such experiments is to use molecules which allow both laser cooling and very high suppression of systematic effects. While polyatomic molecules have been previously suggested for such purposes, the present work goes one step further by studying molecules containing multiple metals and showing that this approach may open the door for the control of metal species that cannot easily be laser-cooled otherwise.

Relaxation and hysteresis near Shapiro resonances in a driven spinor condensate

Bertrand Evrard, An Qu, Karina Jiménez-García, Jean Dalibard, and Fabrice Gerbier

Phys. Rev. A 100, 023604 (2019) - Published 6 August, 2019

A spinor Bose-Einstein condensate is experimentally shown to provide an accurate benchmark for testing theoretical models of relaxation processes. The work can help advance our understanding of nonequilibrium phenomena in quantum many-body systems.

Complete energy conversion between light beams carrying orbital angular momentum using coherent population trapping for a coherently driven double-Λ atom-light-coupling scheme

Hamid Reza Hamedi, Emmanuel Paspalakis, Giedrius Žlabys, Gediminas Juzeliūnas, and Julius Ruseckas

Phys. Rev. A 100, 023811 (2019) - Published 9 August, 2019

A scheme to transfer the orbital angular momentum between two light beams with efficiency up to unity is theoretically demonstrated. The method uses a double-Λ atomic system, a pair of spatially dependent control beams, and the two targeted probe beams that carry optical vorticity.
