She did postdoctoral research at North Carolina State University. She has worked in many areas of materials chemistry, including the synthesis and characterization of inorganic nanomaterials and the photophysics of colloidal quantum dots. She joined the Physical Review family of journals in 2021 for the launch of PRX Energy and served as an Associate Editor for PRX Energy, Physical Review Applied, and Physical Review Materials. Maggie became the Chief Editor of PRX Energy in 2026.

Mehrnaz AnvariFraunhofer Institute for Algorithms and Scientific Computing (SCAI), Germany Mehrnaz Anvari is interested in the combination of the mathematical and computational methods for data analysis and modeling in particular extreme events. She is also interested in the complex networks theories to investigate the response of energy supply networks to uncertain and external extreme events and to identify the critical components in these networks whose failure lead to the large cascading failures in energy networks. Mehrnaz obtained a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Carl Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Wolfgang BauerMichigan State University, USA Wolfgang Bauer is a University Distinguished Professor at Michigan State University. He is a co-author of the university’s Energy Transition Plan. Michael ChertkovUniversity of Arizona, USA Dr. Michael "Misha" Chertkov is a Professor of Mathematics and Chair of the Graduate Interdisciplinary Program in Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona. His research focuses on foundational challenges in mathematics, statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, particularly as they apply to and are inspired by physical systems such as fluid mechanics. He also works on control and optimization of engineered systems, including energy grids and bio-social networks. Dr. Chertkov received his Ph.D. in physics from the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1996. Afterward, he spent three years as an R.H. Dicke Fellow in the Department of Physics at Princeton University. In 1999, he joined Los Alamos National Laboratory, first as a J.R. Oppenheimer Fellow, later becoming a Technical Staff Member in the Theory Division. In 2019, he transitioned to the University of Arizona. Throughout his career, Dr. Chertkov has authored approximately 300 research papers. He is a Fellow of both the AAAS and the American Physical Society (APS) and a Senior Member of IEEE. |

From 2007 to 2010, he was a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of MSE at Stanford University. In 2010 he worked at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center as a post-doctoral researcher and a Research Staff Member until he joined KAIST in 2014. He also spent seven months in 2018-2019 as a visiting Professor at Columbia University. He served as the Associate VP of the Office of Student Life from 2021 to 2023 and has been the Director of the KAIST Global Leadership Center from 2021 to 2024. As of March 2024, he began serving as Department Head of MSE.
