Announcing PRST-PER Focused Collections

I am pleased to announce that PRST-PER will begin having focused collections. A focused collection is a selection of articles on a particular topic of interest to the PER community. Announcements of the first three focused collections will be made in the form of guest editorials in the coming months. It is expected that there will be one or two focused collections in PRST-PER published each year.

Each collection will have a guest editor (or editors) who will 1) solicit articles, 2) participate in the review process to provide feedback to authors, and 3) write a guest editorial to provide an overview for the collection. The first few guest editors have been invited to submit proposals, but any member of the PER community is welcome to propose a focused collection. Proposals for a focused collection should include a description of the topic and why it is important for the PER community along with a list of potential authors and types of papers that might be included in such a collection. The Editor, with input from the Editorial Board, will work with proposers to shape their proposals and will ultimately approve or decline proposals. Please contact me for more details if you are interested in proposing a focused collection.
