Phase of a cyclic cellular automaton, where the color of a cell changes if the number of nearby same-color cells is above a threshold value. The phase shown (static blocks of solid color) corresponds to a high threshold. Lowering the threshold produces more organized phases: first, "turbulent" patterns, then spiral waves. At very low thresholds though, less complex oscillating patterns are produced, in which each cell cycles through all the colors.
