Successive images of a soliton train in a Bose-Einstein condensate of ⁷Li atoms, from a numerical simulation. The BEC is moving in an harmonic-oscillator potential along the horizontal axis; the train spreads out in the center and bunches at the turning points, in good agreement with recent experimental results.
