Resonant fluctuations in heavy-ion reaction cross sections: ,αSi

Abstract
Synthetic small-angle excitation functions and angular distributions are calculated for the reaction ,)Si by use of a compound-nucleus decay model which includes angular momentum conservation. Fluctuations in the synthesized cross sections are shown to exhibit all the general characteristics of measured cross sections, including features usually attributed to resonances.
