Abstract

The total np cross section has been measured using the neutron time-of-flight spectrometer at the Karlsruhe isochronous cyclotron. The measurements span the energy range from 0.7 to 32 MeV with statistical accuracy which varies from 0.2 to 1.0% and an energy resolution of 0.7 keV at 0.7 MeV and 200 keV at 30 MeV. No evidence was found for the recently reported oscillations in the total np scattering cross section.
