Measurement of Shorting Currents from a Theta-Pinch Plasma

Abstract
Shorting currents from a theta-pinch plasma were measured by observing the azimuthal magnetic field, , outside the compression coil. The total current and the radial distribution of the current agree well with values predicted by a theoretical rigid-rotor model.
