Comment on U(6) × O(2)-Symmetry Breaking

Abstract
It is shown that if U(6) × O(2) symmetry is "-broken," then there must exist Carlitz-Kislinger (CK) branch points in the complex angular momentum plane. In view of experimental and theoretical indications against their existence, modifications of " breaking" are considered that do not lead to CK cuts. The approach to U(6) × O(2) breaking based on the Melosh transformation and on the partial conservation of axial-vector currents appears to be free of this difficulty.
