Abstract

A unitary model of multiparticle amplitudes with multiperipheral and diffractive production mechanisms is presented. The model has a bootstrap solution for the elastic amplitude of the form {(J1)+[(J1)2R0t]12}1, leading to constant total cross sections at high energies. Inelastic cross sections and multiplicity distributions may be predicted in qualitative agreement with experiment.
