Abstract
Two possible explanations of the existence and the properties of the meson are analyzed within the framework of the nonpolynomial Lagrangian. It is found that the meson boot-strapping reciprocally with the meson in the static scattering provides a qualitatively satisfactory description of the -meson properties. On the other hand, the forces in the scattering are far too weak to generate the meson. The calculations are performed within the framework of the method, and are free of a cutoff parameter.
