ρ-Meson Properties in a Nonpolynomial Lagrangian Theory

Abstract

Two possible explanations of the existence and the properties of the ρ meson are analyzed within the framework of the nonpolynomial Lagrangian. It is found that the ρ meson boot-strapping reciprocally with the B meson in the static πω scattering provides a qualitatively satisfactory description of the ρ-meson properties. On the other hand, the forces in the ππ scattering are far too weak to generate the ρ meson. The calculations are performed within the framework of the ND method, and are free of a cutoff parameter.
