Abstract

The crossing-symmetric amplitude possessing Regge behavior for πN scattering is constructed using suitable combinations of beta-function terms and t-dependent form factors. The input parameters obtained from nucleon-pole and low-energy pion-nucleon resonances are being used to predict the charge-exchange polarizations, forward differential cross sections, and π+p and πp backward differential cross sections. The theoretical predictions agree reasonably well with experimental data.
