Abstract

We investigate the consistency of ε and S* dominance of the pion mechanical form factor with unsubtractedness, Ward identities, and S-wave ππ phenomenology. We conclude that the ε is not dominant as a result of the strong coupling of the S* to both ππ and KK¯ channels and an unsubtracted form factor is not ruled out in contrast to the conclusions of previous authors.
