Is a Subtraction Necessary for the Pion Mechanical Form Factor?

Abstract
We investigate the consistency of and dominance of the pion mechanical form factor with unsubtractedness, Ward identities, and -wave phenomenology. We conclude that the is not dominant as a result of the strong coupling of the to both and channels and an unsubtracted form factor is not ruled out in contrast to the conclusions of previous authors.
