Abstract

We present new data for the reaction $K^{-} p \to Ξ^{-} K^{+}$ at 3.9-, 4.6-, and 5.0-GeV/c incident momenta. We compare the behavior of $K^{-} p \to Ξ^{-} K^{+}$ with $K^{+} p \to p K^{+}$ backward scattering using a simple model with Reggeized baryon exchange and SU(3).
