Abstract

We propose two new decay modes for the processes of ω→π0π+π and ρ0π0π0π+π, respectively, and calculate their decay rates in terms of their corresponding modes ω→ρπ++π0*+π0,ρ0ωπ0+π++π*+π0. The principal finding of our present paper is that the experimental decay rate of ω can successfully be reproduced while the theoretical rate for ρ0 decay is under an experimental upper limit. The isospin forbidden decays ρ0π0π+π and ω→π0π0π+π are also investigated in different ρ0→ω mixing models in this paper. The coupling of ρ0ρ0π0 and ωωπ0 vertices and the ρ0→ω mixing model are derived from the rotation of ρ0 and ω wave functions. We find that the processes containing vertices ρ0ρ0π0 and ωωπ0 contribute very largely to ρ0π0π+π and ω→π0π0π+π decays.
