Nature of the Breaking of Chiral and Scale Symmetries and the Decay

Abstract
We reexamine the decay under the assumption that the chiral- and scale-invariant limits of the action operator coincide and the dilation exists. We show that an order-of-magnitude improvement over the Riazuddin-Oneda estimate for the decay rate can be obtained. Thus decay does not seem to pose any serious problems to the pure (3,) ⊕ (, 3) breaking of chiral symmetry provided the effects of the dilation are incorporated.
