Abstract
A search for a strangeness-2 exotic meson () with mass less than two kaon masses has resulted in a limit on the cross section for the production of this particle in the reaction . For 1.9-GeV/c incident , this cross section is less than 3.3 μb with 90% confidence. The known cross section for the analogous reaction is about 170 μb at this energy, or more than 50 times larger.
