Abstract
Cross-section, angular-distribution, and polarization measurements are presented for 17 energies. Results of a partial-wave analysis based on these data are presented. The presence of resonant structures in the and waves is confirmed. The masses, widths, and resonant amplitudes are determined: GeV, , and GeV for the ; GeV, , GeV for the . The and octets, decuplet, and singlet are studied for S symmetry of reduced coupling constants; possible conclusions are limited by uncertainty about the detailed energy dependence of the couplings. The resonance is shown to be compatible with the nucleon resonance seen around 2.040 GeV.
