Abstract

We introduce light vector and axial vector mesons as gauge particles in a (broken) local ${SU}_{L} (3) \times {SU}_{R} (3)$ symmetry. We also introduce a heavy axial vector meson and the interactions that combine chiral and heavy quark symmetries. Defining the weak current with appropriate chiral transformation properties we calculate the form factors in $D \to K$ , $D \to K^{*}$ , and $D \to K_{1.4}$ transitions. The results are in agreement with data, wherever data are available.
