Zero modes of the self-dual Maxwell Chern-Simons solitons

Abstract
We derive an explicit formula for the index of coupled Dirac-Klein-Gordon-type operators involving as background fields the scalar and vector fields of Higgs models in two space dimensions. The result is used to count the parameters entering the general static soliton solutions of recently found self-dual Maxwell Chern-Simons systems. We also discuss this finding on the basis of a more explicit representation of the general solution.
