Charge-Exchange Production Mechanism for

Abstract
We present new results on at 5.5 GeV/c. We fit all the available and decay density-matrix elements for the charge-exchange reactions. The difference between the and reactions is explained successfully in terms of interference between a Regge pole and strong absorptive corrections to the Regge pole. This difference is related by vector dominance (VDM) to the and photoproduction cross sections and polarized-photon asymmetry data. The VDM predictions are only qualitatively successful.
