Abstract

Some limitations on the regularities in the baryon spectrum suggested recently by Feynman et al. are discussed in the light of information on SU(3) mixing that can be provided by decay characteristics of "difficult" cases. It is argued that the roles of SU(3) mixing and spin-orbit effects could be largely complementary for an understanding of the baryonic spectrum.
